THE UNCANNY X-MEN (AND NEWS CORP) COME TO SECOND LIFE

Before starting this blog, I routinely sent e-mails to my fellow workers with links to cool stuff. In discussing Second Life with some of them, I suggested that real world businesses, like ours, should establish virtual presence in Second Life.
Little did I know at the time that MTV had already gone there (with interesting results). In April, CocaCola indirectly sponsored an in-world concert that featured live simulcast performances from around the world.
This past week, 20th Century FOX made its way into the metaverse - this time in the form of a virtual premiere for 20th Century Fox's X-Men: The Last Stand on the island of Avalon.
